How to enter
There are 9 categories to choose from and you can enter a maximum of two categories per business.
Please read through the category descriptions below, select the category you wish to enter from the list, then click ENTER NOW . You'll need to register and set up your account the first time you do this.
Registering your account
When registering, you will receive an email which will have a click-through link and a validation code to validate your account. You will need to complete this step before you can start your nomination. If you do not receive the validation email please email dawn.owens@reachplc.com .
Completing your entry
You can save draft entries and return to edit them as often as you wish before submitting. All you need to do is click on the YOUR ACCOUNT tab on the menu banner and this will take you through to your dashboard where you will find all your draft entries and submitted entries.
When you have finished writing your entry and you are ready to submit, you'll need to agree to the terms and conditions then click the COMPLETE button at the bottom of the page. If your entry is still in draft, you will need to click MOVE TO BASKET at the top of the entry before you can click the COMPLETE button.

IMPORTANT INFO - PLEASE READ:
- Maximum word counts are shown below the entry box for each question.
- A business can be submitted into a maximum of three categories however please tailor your entry according to the category in order to meet judges requirements.
- Sponsoring companies are not permitted to enter the category they are sponsoring.
- Entries can be submitted by the business directly or by a third party (agent, client etc).
- Successful nominations will be notified following the judging session in July.
Categories
Barclays Award for Medium-Large Business of the Year
We are looking for businesses that are achieving sustainable growth in turnover of over £5 million profit, and can demonstrate their increased market strength. They may be achieving this through adaptability, quality of management, or diversification into new markets.
BioMed Realty Award for Social Entrepreneurship
Which initiative has delivered or will deliver the most impressive impact on society in terms of social, environmental and economic impact. The initiative could be operating at a local, national or international level but must demonstrate significant ability or potential to make a transformational difference.
Start-up Business of the Year
This category is open to organisations that have been established within the past 2 and a half years that have defied challenging economic conditions to succeed, grow and thrive. Businesses must be able to demonstrate evidence of entrepreneurship and/or innovation and can evidence future growth potential.
HCR Hewitsons Award for Innovation
The judges are looking to reward a company that has developed the most innovative new product, system or process over the past year and can demonstrate the positive impact it’s had on the
business.
Independent Retailer of the Year
This category is open to all Independent retailers, including jewellers, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and hair and beauty businesses and it will allow this important sector to be showcased and give these successful businesses in Cambridgeshire the chance to win this prestigious award.
Price Bailey Award for Business of the Year
This category is not up for nomination and is decided by the judging panel.
Small Business of the Year
We are looking for businesses that have revenues of up to £5 million and can demonstrate an increasing market presence / impact. They may be achieving this through adaptability or diversification into new markets.
Business Person of the Year
This category is not up for nomination and is decided by the judging panel.
AstraZeneca Award for Outstanding Contribution
This category is not up for nomination and is decided by the judging panel.
